Canadian Pacific’s EMD Rebuilds

Canadian Pacific had an extensive EMD rebuild program, from 2013 to 2019. Both 4 and 6 axle locomotives. These units are the focus on this new release from C Vision Productions.

Locations are around the Twin Cities. Shoreham Hill, Shortline Hill, plus BNSF St.Paul subdivision are highlights with grades.

A single DVD-R. A detailed Chapter Menu. On-screen graphics with detailed information. No maps. Choice of narration is on/ off.

Pro shot with modern standards. Live environmental audio. Edited to highlight train sounds. Don Grant with a fine narrative. Excellent colors. Locomotives sound great as they work on some grades.

Updated locomotive designations: SD40-3, SD60-3, GP20C Eco’s, SD30C Eco’s and SD70ACu’s, are seen. Special paint schemes are found within, as well.

The rebuilds are organized by locomotive types. A small percentage of run-through engines.

Railfan’s delight! Whole train consists. Large sections are seen on long trains.

SD60-3

SD60-3 CP 6306

6306 with a Golden Beaver logo. Train is CP H15. CPBN transfer.  At Short Line Hill in St. Paul.

At Coon Creek. 6306 leads CP train 492 to St. Paul. Mixed freight.

6261

6261 is an SD60M-3 is an ex: Soo Line. Rushes past the camera at Branham with a 492 job. Note the Golden Beaver logo.

SD40-3

5107

SD40-3 5107 on the point. The dash 3 has updated microprocessor electronics. 5107 is one of seven rebuils. Shoreham Hill. CP15 transfer job.

GP20C Eco

CP 2320 . The ‘C’ designation features are safety enhancements. The cab,frames and fuel tank for improved Crash resistance. Eco is for emissions improvements.

Train info and freight cars

2209 is on Short Line Hill in the snow. Note the information on H15. Typical for most trains in this program.

SD30C Eco

5046 leads empties for a rock train.

The 5046 leads an empty rock train. The C series has upgraded Crash safety features. Dash 3 denotes the improved electronics. Eco is higher emissions standards. Electromotive rebuilt these locomotives.

5040 leads a HAT job

Flared radiators are a key spotting feature on the SD30C-3 Eco rebuilds. CP 5040 leads H42. This train is aka HAT. (Humboldt Ave Transfer) with three SD40C-Eco units at St. Anthony Village.

A segment on trackage rights trains across the BNSF Hinckley sub.

SD70ACu

There are 60 in this rebuild series. Original models were SD90MAC. Multiple changes. Watch the show.

Heritage 7013

Heritage 7013 has Script lettering at Loretto. CP 396 Grain train. Glenwood. MN to St. Paul

6644 Commemorative unit

6644 commerates the Royal Canadian Air Force Spitfires in D-Day paint. One of a series of Military paints. Train 394 has empty grain cars at New Hope. St. Paul to Tenney, MN.

7045 at Coon Rapids

7045 is a fresh rebuild and seen at Coon Rapids.

Canadian Pacific’s EMD Rebuilds

An informative and well produced show. Plenty of large chunks of freight trains are included on most moves. Entire consists are viewed on shorter moves.

C. Vision has an excellent and unique release. A must have for Canadian Pacific  fans and modelers. A fine show for all current scene, Railfans and Model Railroaders.
