Volume 9 of the comprehensive CSX series. Covers one of the busiest sections of CSX mainline. Willard to Deschler, Ohio.
Similar to others in this Green Frog series. No Chapter Menu. A Chapter Search function. Selectable on/off narration. Bob Carrera with his usual, professional narrative.
The show begins at the CSX yard in Willard, Ohio. A Westbound approaches. Two SD40 locomotives lead.
A brief tour, includes some various maintenance functions in Willard.
Out on the mainline, a signal bridge is being erected. A stone train passes, with orange MOW units.
A C30-7 crosses at Attica Jct. Note the old NW position signal.
Norfolk Southern 5041, hits on the opposing tracks.
Fostoria is next. A traditional hot spot. 7765 on the point.
A lone GP40 pulls a string of auto racks. They rattle like empties.
Deschler is 62 miles from our start at Willard. An extensive visit here.
A vibrant Railfan community in this area. The locals are filmed, enjoying a hobo style stew. There is a Railroad museum. The trackside park, as well.
Some older B&O structures survive here. Campaigns to preserve them were underway. Former Passenger Station.
Adding interest, the inclusion of vintage photographs in Deschler. Rich in history, a wonderful inclusion.
A good portion of this volume is focused on maintenance functions. They may or may not, be of much interest. Viewing a turnout lubed, is in the eye of the beholder. Same with butt welding a rail.
Fortunately, the remainder of this show has regular trainwatching. The traffic is a balance of: freight all kinds, with intermodal. Power is all painted in CSX. Except, the foreign roads! The Deschler Chapter elevates the program. Intertwining, current and historical aspects. Clearly, the most interesting presentation.
