May 14, 1993. Begins with 3985 at the Cheyenne Steam Shop. Notice the added Elephant Ears. An articulated steam locomotive. The pilot is a separate attachment. Converted to Oil in 1990.
Hauls cars over Sheman Hill. Destination is Denver.
Arrival at Denver. Check the added smoke deflector.
An original excursion to Laramie, was in 1953. UP Challenger 3967 powered that train.
May 15, 1993. Renumbered as 3967. As the original trip, Rocky Mountain RR Club event. The Special departs and deviate slightly by using a newer (1953) track at Sherman Hill. .
Various Rocky Mountain members are interviewed. Offering insights into history and operational aspects.
