To the Trains…

Beginning at Toledo, Ohio. After an exterior look at the old CUT station. NS symbol 21T. This is at Toledo Yard. Engines 2704/ 2754 power this Intermodal. Wintertime weather.

Now it is Summertime. NS 2514 splits the signals with a double-stack and is West of Delta.

NS symbol 31M. This is the former Wabash Yard in Fulton County.

NS 3013 leads two BNSF engines pulling Train 20G past the Wauseon depot.

Train 21T. NS 2746 leads a long one with auto racks and containers. Wauseon, Ohio.

Engine 9035 with a Manifest at Pettisville, Ohio.

Train 27V at Stryker, Ohio. NS 3388/ 9340 with the grain elevator just ahead in this snowy scene.

Conrail paint still on 5443. NS units 2872/ 6706/ 9284 trail in the lash-up. Train 16E is at Butler, Indiana. This scenes is before the new connection was installed in 2005.

Nighttime scenes at Waterloo from a well lit platform. Checkout wet NS 5549. The rain gets heavier as trains roll past, and the camera needs shelter.

Action at Kendallville, Indiana. 120 The local Kendallville Terminal #16 switcher is at work on the shortline.

Amtrak 29 is led by engine 76. Ligonier, Indiana.

Elkhart has a brief conclusion for Volume 1. This is the end of the tour at CP421. A large classification yard and a New York Central museum are here. Trains filmed around the busy Elkhart Station in a variety of weather. At the right is Train 20E. Engine 9157 on the point. Amtrak serves Elkhart.

This Toledo to Elkhart corridor is very busy. Heavy traffic to and from, on the Chicago line. A high percentage of Intermodal freight. Typical Midwestern flatland terrain.

NS livery dominates. There is still some Conrail paint running. Run-through power from BNSF and Canadian Pacific appear. Amtrak trains are interspersed throughout.
