Return to the 1950s behind the camera of Ben Young. First of several Pennsylvania Glory series. This collection of his films features the mighty Pennsylvania Railroad. Additional roads: Long Island RR,  Central Railroad of New Jersey plus New York and Long Branch.

A single DVD-R. Filmed in mostly color, 16mm. The picture is clear. Accurate colors. Soundtrack is a musical background. Train sounds are integrated to some scenes. Balanced audio.

Push play. No menu, or maps. Some on-screen graphics basic information. A preview. Narrative is Ralph Morse.

Long Island Railroad

The show begins on the Long Island Railroad. An interesting look at seldom seen vintage LIRR. Various classes of steam power. Early diesels from a variety of builders, Commuter mu trains, as well.

LIRR G-5 at Hicksville

Long Island Railroad closed the door on steam here. October 8, 1955. Engines 35 and 38 were at Hicksville for the special event.

Sunnyside Yard

A Pennsylvania GG-1 pulls its train out of the vast Sunnyside Yard.

South Amboy

New York and Long Branch action. At South Amboy. Pennsylvania 3733 departs with a train that was just dropped by a GG-1.

Long Branch

Pennsylvania K-4 engines made their last stand on the Long Branch. The Pennsylvania Railroad dominates the rest of this program. Steam, Diesel and Electric are jam packed with comprehensive historical information.

CNJ 774

Central Railroad of New Jersey gets a brief look. An Excursion on CNJ on July 11,  1954. At Bayhead Jct. the train is turned around. One of the final steam trips. Camelback 774 was the last operating steamer on Jersey Central.

Pennsylvania 612 (K-4)hauls a Farewell to Steam Special on October 20, 1957. Sea Girt to Jamestown, New Jersey. That is our Cinematographer, Ben Young standing there.

460 The Lindbergh Engine

Atlantic class 460 was nicknamed The Lindbergh Engine. Name was for a famous fast trip. Inquire within for details.

Enola

At Enola, Pennsylvania. The 520 is an L-1 Mikado.  Doing some switching.

Enola Yard

Here is an I-1 Decapod working the hump at Enola Yard. Note the diesels in the background. Great yard footage.

A pair of M-1 Mountain types back through the yard. Check the small Electro-motive SW1 in the foreground. The large roundhouse and Electric Boxcabs in the background. Transition Era!

Pennsylvania Glory Volume 1

This is a quickly paced show. It turns into a whirlwind tour of the covered lines. A stunning assortment of power. Many locations give a wide variety of viewpoints and trains. Enola Yard is stunning!

Ben T. Young is a great Cinematographer! Top composition. These vintage scenes include enough background for a time machine like experience.

An obvious must have for Pennsylvania fans. Steam heads and Model Railroaders across the board may find this excellent show a fine addition to a collection.

A musician for many years. Guitar is my main instrument. Enjoy bass playing .Rock and Blues styles. However, Lead Vocals have been a Huge surprise!
The crowd loves my singing. I sound like; Joe Cocker, Greg Allman, with a bluesy tone. Nobody was more shocked than me. A late bloomer.

I love to have some laughs. People think that I am hilarious, and I remain clueless as to why... :)
