Quantico & Greenwich 2000

Producer: Revelation

Locations: Quantico, Greenwich

Timeframe: 2000

Length: 2 hours

Revelation has this 2 ‘fer program. Subtitle is, Dawn to Dusk Hot Spots. First up is Amtrak. This spot is located at a harder to access Quantico, Virginia area. CSX is an easy find at Greenwich, Ohio. Both were filmed in 2000.

A single DVD-R. Fullscreen 4×3 aspect ratio. Live audio. Balanced soundtrack.

Main Chapter Menu is divided into two separate shows. There are two maps of these hotspots are on the back cover. Narrated by Rod McElrath.

To the Trains… 👉

Quantico, Virginia leads off the show. It is listed in Morning and Afternoon sections. This place is 35 miles from Washington, DC. Commuter service to the city is provided by Virginia Railway Express. They operate in push-pull fashion. Engine V20 shoves on a morning train.

Train 84

Amtrak F40PH 315 appears next at a 7:12 am stop. This train #84 serves Richmond to Boston. Locomotive 315 is parked on the wrong main this time. The Northbound and Southbound schedules are posted at the station and are included on a screenshot. Ten Amtrak trains service this place daily. This facility has been unmanned since 1969. There are numerous Amtrak moves shown.

Moving on, this river crossing appears to be the Potomac from the map. A locomotive is at each end on this Northbound VRE at 8:20 am. Additional trains are seen here from Amtrak and CSX. This long sequence lacks narration in favor of brief subtitles with limited information. This style gets boring fast!

.

Tropicana

Freights runby after the main morning rush hour. A long Southbound CSX Tropicana has an ex: Conrail unit. Narrative resumes with some brief bits of historical film.  A look at Quantico and some Military museum scenes.

Auto Train

Auto Train at 4:13 pm is Southbound.

V01 at Quantico Station. Southbound move at 6:55 pm.

Greenwich Ohio

CSX 9992

Greenwich, Ohio begins 36 minutes into the program.  A Chicago Special on these former B&O tracks. The ex: Amtrak F40 locomotive is now CSX 9992. Seems to be hauling an executive train.

There are 8 optional routes through this area. Trackage legacy is B&O or New York Central. Covers most directions of travel. A hand drawn map covers the connections simply and clearly. Chicago- Akron is double-track. Some useless night photography is followed by hard to see pre-dawn action.

The lighting is much improved at 6:49 am. CSX 8176 fronts this Eastbound auto rack train as it crosses the diamonds.

Wheeling & Lake Erie

Wheeling & Lake Erie 4018 is on a Northeast heading at 10:00.

CSX 8533

CSX travels Northeast at 11:15 am. This three unit lash-up has CSX 8533 on the point.

CSX 8804

Conrail paint on this CSX 8804 leading a colorful FURX 3017 and a trailing relettered BNSF 744 Warbonnet. Hauling mixed freight in a Southwest direction at 11:55.

CSX 7324

CSX 7324 fronts this freight as it heads West towards Chicago on the double-track mainline. The sky is getting cloudy at 3:34 pm.

Quantico and Greenwich 2000

These two hotspots offer different locations than normally seen in shows. Quantico features many passenger trains. A variety of equipment on Amtrak and Virginia Railway Express. CSX appears at both locations.

Speaking of CSX. The choice of Greenwich is excellent! A super busy hotspot with a plethora of various locomotives. Freight travels in many directions at this complex Interlocking.

Videography is better in Greenwich, Ohio. Sound is interesting as trains bang across the diamonds there. Long stretches sans narration restrain a higher rating on both features.

Overall, an intriguing presentation of uncommon places. Well worth a view. One of the better Revelation shows.

A musician for many years. Guitar is my main instrument. Enjoy bass playing .Rock and Blues styles. However, Lead Vocals have been a Huge surprise!
The crowd loves my singing. I sound like; Joe Cocker, Greg Allman, with a bluesy tone. Nobody was more shocked than me. A late bloomer.

I love to have some laughs. People think that I am hilarious, and I remain clueless as to why... :)

I hope that everyone enjoys the material.
