Here is a busy hotspot in North East, Pennsylvania. Filmed on June 23, 2022. CSX and Norfolk Southern operate on parallel lines at Burt Road Bridge. There is a Train Log which documents 32 freights for that date.
A single DVD-R. Full screen 4×3 aspect ratio. Recorded in 2022 for a modern video. Live environmental audio.
Main Chapter Menu. Hidden advance finction. On-screen graphics. Narration is insufficiently done by Ron McElrath. How can anyone actually term this show as narrated!
To the Trains… 👉

Begins with good historical information. Some town shots. Scenes at Lake Shore Railway Historical Museum. The best chapter in the show.

An early morning start when it is still dark and a time waster train. At 5:28 is the second move of the day. Here is a CSX move of auto racks going Westbound. A blurry mess. Need more daylight. No narration.

Timestamp at 7:11. Norfolk Southern travels West on a mixed freight. Many graffiti ruined cars are included.

Train 8 for this day. Amtrak’s Lake Shore Limited #48/ 448 is running over one hour late according to the graphic at 9:15 am. Still waiting for some narration. Meanwhile, the boring presentation is sleepy.

Narration returns at 32 minutes into the train watching. A brief Lake Shore Railway Historical Society museum visit here. The New York Central U25B is one of very few well-framed shots of parked equipment.

Another train museum at Conneaut, Ohio. Display Nickel Plate Berkshire 755 looks on, as CSX hustles past. A quick visit which includes some interiors of the museum.

Relocated to Cemetery Road. This being just West of the museum. Train 15 is behind Norfolk Southern power on a local at 12:15. No extra charge for the crossing gate blocking the view.

CSX engine 3212 (ES44AC-H) hauls a Westbound CSX Trash Train at Burt Road Bridge and the narration is dumped too! This is the 37 minute mark. No narration continues. Time waster of a supposed to be ‘narrated show’.
North East 2022
This release plays like Amateur Hour. Fails on the advertised as a narrated show. Train sounds and wind noise on an annoying soundtrack. Almost zero information on the Trains. The brief subtitles provide little more than railroad, timestamp and maybe another line of a single detail.
The video falls flat on the general presentation. Several minutes of the narrated town and museum visits are not worth the price of admission.
Speaking of price. Free sites contain tons of non-narrated railfanning videos. Hardly making commercial shows like this one giving much value.
Listening to the wind beating on the microphone is unpleasant on a quality sound system. Should have cut the volume and narrated these sections. Hence, amateur video.
Conclusion. Waste of money!
