Tour of CSX Volume 5. This wide ranging show was filmed in 6 states. The focus in in the Southeast. Ends up on the old Clinchfield rails.
The many locations include: Nashville, Amqui, Henderson Sub, Madisonville, Decatur, Clinchfield, Kayne Ave., Courtland, Cedar Hill, Trenton, Hermitage, McDaniel Siding, Diana, Wheelerton, Ardmore, River Jct, Hartselle, Blue Ridge Tunnel and more.
Available in a single or as part of the set. Minor differences. No chapter menu or narrative choice for example in the multi disc set.

To the Trains… 👉
Nashville, Tennessee. Train Y-122 is a local with CSX switchers 1119/ 1114. It works the Westside. 3ms. The Henderson sub is followed North, out of town.
Still in Tennessee for several more scenes here… CR Drawbridge crosses the Cumberland River. CSX 592 leads an ex:CR as CSX 8840 on train Q-647.
CSX 8189 on Q-127 slows its double-stack for a crew change at Kayne Avenue.
Q-573 at Amqui. 2202 leads a 4 unit lash-up with a mixed freight. On a side note, Johnny Cash used to own the train station here. It was later converted to a museum.
Train V-236 is working a coal line with a mine run at Madisonville, Kentucky. CSX 354 leads 47 with hoppers. A Paducah and Louisville is seen on it’s route nearby.
Nashville and Eastern is visited. The Music City Star is highlighted, as well.
Still touring in Tennessee. At Frankewing, Q-649 on a small overpass. Engine 72 on the point of 4 units.
Now at Ardmore, Alabama. This is a busy single track mainline. Train T-108 led by CSX 766 (ES44AC-H) has a meet with K-822 pulled by CSX 7853 (CW40-8) leading, is waiting in the siding.
Clinchfield… The former Clinchfield line predominates the last 30 minutes of this show. The chief commodity is coal.
Symbol U-393 exits from Blue Ridge Tunnel. This is near the top of the Clinchfield Loops. CSX 456 (AC44-CW) leads the freight Southbound.
GE demo as UP 7605 leads a CSX grain car move (G-982) near Toecane, North Carolina. Still on ex: Clinchfield trackage.
Now on Norfolk Southern and in Virginia. The CSX N-308 train yields to a Norfolk Southern local behind a NS 2834 (GP38).
Tour of CSX Volume 5.
The first half of this program is mostly Tennessee action. Clinchfield Railroad tour is largely the last half hour. Several bits from connecting roads from small to class one. Some map references would have been helpful.
Chris Wellman has expert videography. Narrative has operations and train symbols featured. Additional miscellaneous bits round it out. Soundtrack has outstanding, ‘you are there’ feel. Green Frog high quality production anchors the show.
An intriguing tour of what is covered in the uncommonly filmed Southeastern US. Volume 5 is a top tier entry in this series.
