Hot Spots 3 Rosenberg

Producer: Highball

Location: Rosenberg

Timeframe: 1999

Length: 1 hour 29 minutes

Rosenberg, Texas is located South of Houston. The BNSF and Union Pacific cross here. Rosenberg has Tower 17. It controls this intersection of the two railroads. This was filmed in December, 1999.

A single. Full screen picture. Live environmental audio.

No chapter menu. Hidden chapter advance. On-screen graphics which identify trains and times. No maps. Narrated show.

Both BNSF and UP have small yards here. Mainline trains, along with local switching moves.

To the Trains… 👉

The action starts right at the tower. Leased HATX 518 switches a local. This BNSF move passes the Tower 17 signage.

Union Pacific 3772 and a Southern Pacific SD40-2 engines blow past at 8:45 am. Train is A-SPBV. Hauls auto racks. No further information is provided.

M-HOSA

SP 8634 leads these four locos on M- HOSA next. Perhaps a Houston origin. San Antonio destination…

BN painted 7975 leads with a rare ex: Santa Fe B unit (BNSF 7505) on a container train.

BNSF 4935 grabs printed train orders before crossing over onto Union Pacific for Houston trackage.

Santa Fe 2315 (GP38) in the blue/ yellow Warbonnet on Local 191 paired with General Electric 6371 (B23-7).

The Rosenberg Local. SP 7824/ 7855 recall a pre-merger appearance, while performing switching.

Renumbered Warbonnet as BNSF 8250 leads I-HOUGAL. Maybe, an Intermodal from Houston to Galveston.

A-MEMX1

Mexican run-through on BNSF at 2:45 pm. Now, here is a little bit of informative commentary.

I-NOLB. is led by UP 5746. Check the busy traffic on this reverse view of the highballing train, which follows this scene.

Union Pacific 3594 is filmed after dark with a nice tower shot.

Hot Spots 3 Rosenberg

Having seen several of these Hot Spots from Highball. None are put together in outstanding form. This one has excellent videography. Subtitles have train designations and time. Too bad the symbols are not defined by narration as to the specific origin and destination points.

Train sounds are fine. The narration is barely present. The near constant crossing bells are annoying. Those should have been minimized in audio edits.

Overall, the strength of this release is the fine camera work. Trains themselves are excellent sounding. Edits are clean. Plenty of variety as far as the locomotives.

Rosenberg is the best of the problematic Highball Hot Spots that have been reviewed here.

A musician for many years. Guitar is my main instrument. Enjoy bass playing .Rock and Blues styles. However, Lead Vocals have been a Huge surprise!
The crowd loves my singing. I sound like; Joe Cocker, Greg Allman, with a bluesy tone. Nobody was more shocked than me. A late bloomer.

I love to have some laughs. People think that I am hilarious, and I remain clueless as to why... :)

I hope that everyone enjoys the material.
