Another rarity as Penn Central GP40 with the orange C logo. Hauling hoppers past a very quiet Toledo Union Station. Compare this station to the busy steam era. Like night and day difference!

New York Central livery is still seen on Penn Central E units. Baltimore and Ohio diesel powers Chesapeake and Ohio George Washington, which is departing the station. Meanwhile, a Penn Central freight eases by in the background. Toledo, 1970.

At Wayne Jct. train orders are hooped up to engine 6556. A General Electric U33C. This freight is on its way to Detroit in 1970.

An interesting variety of cabooses. Double the fun in this 1970 scene! The New York Central Flexi-Van is an early form of the now common container. A red P on the Penn Central caboose was a rare bird.
Penn Central Volume 2
Emery Gulash was a premier Cinematographer of trains. His 16mm color films are of legendary quality. Having the freedom to travel. He shot numerous films. Michigan being his home State was prolific.
Neighboring Ohio also had a plentiful amount of film. Both States are included in this show. Toledo and Wayne Jct. Being key locations.
Green Frog has outstanding remasters of these venerable titles in their catalog. The authentic sound recordings give viewers a trackside experience on some scenes. In fact, it appears that his friend Walt, is turning off a trackside recorder. Watch for it.
The year 1970 was two years post merger. Surprising are the amount of unrepainted New York Central locomotives. A number of older Pennsylvania and NYC cabooses are shown.
A cornucopia of freights make this one of the the best shows in this series. There is a rag tag variety of PC passenger trains. Model Railroaders can find plenty in both consists.
Informative script by Emery and Frank Kyper. Penn Central Volume 2 is a must-have for Penn Central fans and modelers.
