Coverage here continues Eastward. Volume 3 is from Belen, NM. to Mountainair, New Mexico. Abo Canyon is the primary scenic highlight. All 7 canyon bridges were filmed.
A DVD-R. Fullscreen 4×3 aspect ratio. Live environmental audio. Pro shot by Rich Schied. Imagery looks fine. Winds were blowing hard. Green Frog controls this inconvenience via their sharp production skills. Sometimes, it becomes quite noticeable and quickly reigned in to be a reasonable intrusion.

To the Trains…

Belen, New Mexico is the starting yard. This is a crew change point and locomotive service. An assortment of paint on BNSF power. SF 644, BN 9262, SF GP60B 338 and GP60 111. A double-stack from Gallup arrives.

Bridge One on the East face of the Rocky Mountains. Plenty of freights roll through this location. GE C44 leads an SD60M with an Intermodal.

The well-known Bridge Two. A Belen bound move is going downgrade behind 4 GE widecabs. BNSF (C44-9W) 4953 , Santa Fe warbonnet, BNSF 4377, and a BNSF lettered warbonnet.

Bridge Three. BNSF pushers on this train.

Bridge four being approached. This Wrstbound is going to Flagstaff, Barstow and Los Angeles destination.

Bridge five. BNSF 4418 leads a 4 unit lash-up with a Westbound stacker.

Engines 4541, 4855, 7872, 4941, and 1012 lead a Westbound in this picturesque scene at Bridge Six.

The American Orient Express Special is Westbound. Unique passenger consist is hauled by Amtrak locomotives. Meets a Chicago bound double-stack.

The Mountainair depot wraps this tour up. Note the B unit which is still in service at this time.

The wide variety of BNSF power is intriguing. New Mexico has a stark beauty. Creative videography that is always welcome.
Model railroaders may find the scenery a Muse. Twisting trackage, bridges, mountains, cliffs, and more inspirational scenes to fire the creativity.
Again, credit to Green Frog for regulating the wind noise. Makes the difference between a fine show versus junk.
It is a satisfying program that almost any Railfan can enjoy. Much more to come in this series…
