This Volume 3 is from Spring St. Tower (GW), in Elizabethport, New Jersey, to a couple of trains at Easton, Pennsylvania. Set in the 1960s. Freight and Commuter service is covered. Color film.
Main Chapter Menu. A chapter advance function. Basic map. Narration by Aaron Gonthier.
Single DVD-R. Fullscreen 4×3 aspect ratio. Train sounds and music. High-quality color film restoration.
Intriguing mix of diesels from: CNY, Reading, B&O plus a bit of N&W. Assortment of both freight and passenger trains. There are some Budd cars, but who cares about those.
Alco, Baldwin,Electro-Motive, and Fairbanks-Morse are all represented. Surprisingly, the Trainmasters show up on all types of trains. Jersey Central had an unremarkable livery, but you can’t beat the variety here.
To the Trains… 👉

CNJ 1553 on a Westbound Express at GW Tower. There are many passenger trains to see. I much prefer freight, and that’s what is highlighted.

Alco RS3 and a Fairbanks Morse Trainmaster with an Eastbound into Elizabethport Yard.

Reading F 261 and GP7 631 with a CNJ Trainmaster go slowly into the yard.

A B&O GP30 6948 in the Sunburst scheme with F units depart with a freight. There are a pretty good amount of B&O freights in the show. Reading Lines check-in with Crusaders and a little freight.

F3A/B/A trio depart Elizabethport Yard and pass the tower.

A brief cab ride aboard Lehigh and Hudson River #13. Here, the Cranford Drill passes XC Tower.

At Bound Brook, there is the Station, RK Tower, and a yard. This is a busy spot. A trio of Baldwin Babyface engines.

Fairbanks-Morse Trainmaster 2404 pulls a Mail Train at Bound Brook.

CNJ GP7 1528 with the Bound Brook Drill nears RK Tower.

Westbound freight with pair of SD35 engines at Philipsburg. Number 2508 leads.

This show is loaded with cabooses. Many 40′ boxcars are included.
Along the Jersey Central Volume 3
Loaded with action at busy locations. The variety of locomotives and freight cars is awesome. Even though these CNJ paint schemes are ugly. It is one of the best JPM shows for trainwatching.
The train sounds are well done. Cinematography is excellent from the different 8mm sources. The outstanding film restoration is mighty fine.
A pro script and smooth narrative are the icing on the cake in this 1960s showpiece.
Railfan and Model Railroaders should find this a satisfying program. Baltimore and Ohio has numerous freight cars to see. Of course, there are more.
