Here is another 2024 remaster from older MoKan Video source tapes from 1994. Major upgrades that bring these shows into a more contemporary presentation.
Santa Fe route from Kansas City to Wellington. Many freights are running the mainline at 70 mph speeds. Hot Intermodals are dominant. Plenty of the trains are using 2nd generation power. There is no shortage of newer locomotives.
A single DVD-R. Available on Blu-ray, as well. Main Chapter Menu. A chapter advance function. On-screen subtitles Location maps and track diagrams of highlighted areas. Selectable on/ off narration.
Credit to Rearview Mirror Media. Digital Remaster, editing, and color correction in 2024. The state of the art production has this MoKan release appearing like a MoKan 2.0. Tim Walter produced this modernized release. An amazing transformation compared to older MoKan visuals!
Fullscreen aspect ratio. Live environmental audio. This show contains those traditional Mokan mid-train fades to the next section of the train. If you know, you know.
To the Trains..

Begins at Kansas City Milepost 0. Blue/ yellow Warbonnets. Units 6335/3008/ 2236/2119/2129. This is at KC Union Station.

Electromotive SD45 5817 with an EMD B unit 5514 heads a train. An intermodal travels in the opposite direction. Santa Fe Junction is nearly 2 miles from the start. Good track diagrams of this yard area. Excellent camerawork. A yard area tour follows. An overview route map would’ve been good.

The old and the new paint schemes. AY Tower and Argentine Yard area. A variety of scenes. Low speed traffic on the lead tracks. Local track diagrams. It’s an interesting chapter. The red/silver and blue/yellow Warbonnets are fairly evenly split throughout the show.

Train KCAM is Eastbound under a truss bridge at Malvern. This mixed freight was delayed by trackwork west of here. These Kansas City to Amarillo (plus the reverse move) were workhorses on the Emporia sub.

Emporia is a hotspot. No longer a crew change point. Several trains seen here.

Eastbound mixed freight at the closed Merrick Tower.

Meet has 9516 waiting in the siding with auto racks on the Westbound. LAKC roars past behind the 521 engine at Bazar. Milepost 136. A 14,000 foot siding.

Train H-RISR. The friendly engineer waves from a GP60M at Matfield Green.

El Dorado shows a number of trains. An Eastbound is seen here.

Four blues pass Augusta depot with a Piggyback.

A GE C44-9W, the 627, leads a pig train at Salter.

This KCAM is behind 3057/3417/3705/3072. These EMD geeps depart Wellington to Amarillo, Texas.
Santa Fe Emporia Sub & Argentine Yard
Whether one is a Santa Fe or a Union Pacific fan. These 2024 releases are the MoKans to add to a collection. Vast improvements make these new selections a no-brainer on a MoKan shopping list.
Santa Fe action pours it on, hot ‘n heavy. Most cruise along at fast track speeds. The scenes are well-framed. Enough slower moves that balance the action. These trains pop visually, unlike previous shows from this production house.
It is an astounding improvement for the MoKan label. Start with these 2024 shows if you are a newbie. I consider these new remasters as MoKan 2.0. Night and day difference!
