To the highlights…

Departs Oroville on May 2nd. Now with open cylinder cocks. Get back, people.

Enters Reno, Nevada.

Brief pace from I-80. Check the trailing Heritage diesels 1996 and 1983.

A long-distance telephoto shot from across Donner Lake. This limited coverage is akin to lip service for this famous area.

Rounding a curve at Auburn, California.
Rosedale for an event.

BNSF creeps across Keddie Wye. Several more freights are seen in the vicinity.

Departs Portola in May 5. No diesels here.

The train is parking at Elko.

The 844 is on it’s way back to Cheyenne

Traversing through Nevada. Destination is Cheyenne.
UP 844 Western Heritage Tour
The 45 minute runtime is a little short. Seems like a few corners were cut. Donner Pass being a disappointment.
Feather River Canyon misses 844 at Keddie Wye. Although this plays better. Freight trains are filler.
Nothing from Cheyenne in either direction. To be fair, it wasn’t promised. Still, a bit limited on coverage overall.
The sum total. Worth a buy if you are a fan. Just keep the expectations realistic.
