A look at Selkirk Yard. The largest classification yard in the Northeast. Built by the New York Central. Also, surrounding area rail traffic.

Picture quality is a consistent very good. Not modern HD. Colors are fine. Image is a bit soft. Audio is Enviornmental, from a live microphone. Musical background on helicopter shots.

Graphics are loaded with details. Train designations. Origin points and destination. Also, camera locations are noted.

Starts in Guilderland. Elevated viewpoints that are photography friendly. Three street overpasses provide these great opportunities.

Plentiful freight car supply. Great news. Very little graffiti garbage. Run through power from various Railroads.

The East-West traffic is on the Chicago Lines. A constant stream of freights! Above, Two Selkirk Yard- Indiana trains meet.

Guilderland provides a variety of views.

An extended amount of time is spent Railfanning, the Guilderland vicinity.

Alfred H. Smith Bridge is a huge one. A mile long. Constructed to bypass Albany.

Exploring Selkirk

This is an excellent show. A cornucopia of Conrail trains. Nearly graffiti free. Stays focused on target area. Thin coverage on visits. Experienced Railfans’ have seen similar facilities elsewhere.

A busy presentation. Action is abundant. Loaded with information. Viewers may learn a good deal about Conrail movements. The only full Conrail Selkirk Yard show, that maintains focus. Bump it up for that. All around, a well done release.

Singular subject. Get your Conrail Selkirk on.
