A Chapter Menu. Narration. Map reference. Film restoration. Professional quality. Single DVD-R.

Mike Bednar has become a regular narrator for JPM. He is quite knowledgeable regarding that period of Northeast Railroads. Great improvement for this D&H series!

Volume 4 spans about 3 decades. Too much to fully cover, in the space of a review. Highlights in the interest of compactness. Readers should get the idea. Nearly all color film. Beautifully Restored film.

Camelback steam at Lake George, NY. This is 1940s.

Lake George, NY in the late 1940s. Color film. Steam locomotive. 1948 maybe. Camelback loco. Heavyweight cars. 816 engine at the station.

Montreal West. RS-3 passenger, one scene. A PA led train in Quebec. Canada is done.

A venerable Alco RS-3 unmodified.

Any vintage D&H show, that is worth it’s salt. Needs to offer RS-3 locomotives. Instead of the usual summer scene. Let’s go with the cold.

Alco C-628 were new additions in 1965.

A look around Whitehall has Alcos in fresh shape. RS11 units are very clean. RS-3 class in assorted paint.

GE lash-ups meet at Penobscot.

A couple of lightning stripe, GE led freights meet at Penobscot.

Lehigh Valley 628 leads a trio of Centuries being chased.

Ne 87 with Alco C-628 power. Pace sequences across the countryside. Enjoyable!

Former Reading GP #7410 on the point of a long freight.

Richmondville Hill, NY. Circa 1978. Ex: Reading 7410, and two re-lettered LV engines. They battle around curves and upgrade. Good freight car views this train. Four Pushers to shove hard!

April 20, 1974. Trio of Alco PA on a passenger special. Afton, NY runby.

Erie Lackawanna on Starrucca Viaduct.

Erie Lackawanna on top of Starrucca Viaduct. Another must have item. Yes, several D&H scenes appear. Weathered C-628 roll underneath, for one. Not too mention, a Cab Ride towards Mt. Arafat begins here…

D&H PA 19 operates in upstate New York

Alco PA19 pulling passenger move, in winter weather. Upstate New York.

Blue and Yellow repaints dominate,as trailing units here.

Late repaints in this era. Blue and yellow colors. Solid or striped end variants. Electromotive and General Electric, already made headway onto the roster. Note the lead GE u-boat needs paint.

GE led lash-up. Blue and yellow U-boat.

A freshly painted GE u-boat leads a 4 unit lashup. This locomotive has the full yellow nose. A green ex: Reading, is 3rd back.

SD45 pair. Quickly re-lettered from EL. Now, on Delaware & Hudson

Pair of SD45 units lead a freight with 3 pushers.

Bernie Gill. Engineer on Delaware & Hudson.

Special mention for Bernie Gill. Engineer on Delaware & Hudson. Mike Bednar has high praise for him. Friendly and kind. Several segments have him in action.

Delaware & Hudson wide vision caboose.

Here is some insight. The colors are accurate on this D&H Caboose. Often, reds and yellows are the 1st to go off color. The reds glow. The yellows turn green. Red in particular is tough. John Pechulis does outstanding film restoration work!

Railfanning the Delaware and Hudson Volume 4.

Mike Bednar’s narrative sets this Volume, above the previous shows in this series. Consistent, outstanding film quality. A 30 year timespan. Fine soundtrack. This is the best of, Railfanning the Delaware & Hudson shows!

The crowd loves my singing. I sound like; Joe Cocker, Greg Allman, with a bluesy tone. Nobody was more shocked than me. A late bloomer.

I love to have some laughs. People think that I am hilarious, and I remain clueless as to why... :)
